What to Expect

I am always happy to schedule a free 30-minute virtual meeting to answer your questions and help you decide if Full Life is the right fit for your family.

When we first speak over the phone, we will discuss any immediate saftey management necessary while you are waiting to begin your sessions.  Please see the handout: Management for Canine Behavior Problems.  Payment is required when services are scheduled.

Our first consultation will be virtual and a completed behavior questionnaire is requried 48 hours before this meeting.  When filling out your behavior questionnaire, avoid terms like "dominant" or "aggressive". Instead, describe what your dog is doing in as much detail as possible. The more complete a picture you create for me of your dog's behaviors, the better behavior modification plan I can create.  All clients are asked to review the website I Speak Dog which will help you better interpret how your dog communicates.

This consult involves more information gathering and I will review how I recommend we proceed.  We will discuss realistic expectations for your dog's progress and how in depth you would like to go with your training/behavior modification plan.  After the initial consult I will send you an email including an estimate of how many consults you are likely to need, the type of services that I recommend for your situation, an outline of the management and training/behaviormodification plan I recommend for your situation, and a price quote.

A dog's family has the greatest influence on their behavior.  No matter what training package you choose, you will need to learn the training techniques and practice with your dog for the best results.  This is usually much less time consuming than pet guardians realize.  You also may need to make changes to your dog's home environment, which is also usually not difficult.  I may ask you to discuss your dog's behaviors with your veterinarian to rule out physical causes for them.  I may also recommend changes to your dog's nutrition, exercise routine, and sleep schedule as all of these are factors in behavior.
